The IMPORTANCE of Self love

Heart drawn in sand with a most sincere message written inside of it proclaiming my undying love to myself.

I love me, I love me, I LOVE MEEEEEEEE………

When was the last time you said that to yourself? Not a lot? maybe a little? Never?!

When you allow yourself to love yourself, you’re sending out signals to the universe that you are ready to accept love, peace and all the good of this world. Self love is respecting yourself, self love is appreciating who you are with all your “flaws”, self love is being able to look at yourself and accept yourself for who you are. People tend to mistake self love with vanity, that you think you’re better than everyone else. This act of loving yourself has absolutely nothing to do with being vain or looking down on anyone, sure when you start to release negative people from your world and refuse to accept other people’s negative energy around you, you may come across as a snob, but who cares what they think anyway, this is your journey through life in a physical form, self love is an act of love where you are  continuously trying to raise your positive vibrations higher so that all the things that you truly want that you’ve limited yourself to not having through your negative thoughts about yourself, can flow easily and effortlessly into your life.

You were not put on this earth to suffer and cry and be rejected, your a spiritual entity and your energy is flowing all day everyday whether  you accept it or not, what you put out will always come back, so why not love yourself hey?  why not look at yourself in the mirror and instead of pointing out that extra bit of weight, or the stretch marks or whatever you don’t like about yourself, see the perfection instead of your ‘flaws’. Is your life really that bad that you’ve placed yourself in a place where your dominant thought about yourself is filled with Hatred and pain?
This act of not loving yourself is down to low self esteem, a feeling of not being worthy, but you know you’re worthy, you’re just afraid of allowing your worth to pierce through that dark cloud out of fear of what may happen next….

We’ve all been in situations where we treat others a lot better and with more respect then we would ourselves, we put ourselves last and hope that treating others better will earn us respect, but far from what we want to gain from this gesture, all you’ll receive is lack of respect and you’ll end up looking weak and desperate.

Relationships are a good way of gauging your  self love, because our emotions are highly involved in this attachment.
I’ve been in relationships where i put all my focus on pleasing the other person, without giving myself a second thought, i would go out of my way to  make sure that the person i was with is always happy, then i thought ” well, what about me?, if i can’t love myself, then surely no one else will”, then things started to change, i took time out, i started my journey of self love, and let me tell you, it is the best journey i have been on, and i will continue on this journey until my time as a physical being is over. Not only that, but the people around me started to become more positive, i started to attract people that respected me, that cared for my well being and saw me and accepted me for who i truly am.

There is absolutely nothing attractive about a person who does not respect themselves and constantly wants to please other people, it’s as if you need someone to make you valid, make you happy and make you worth something… this is extremely sad, because each and every one of us deserves all the love and happiness in the world, i truly mean that.

Nothing is more powerful and attractive than a person who is confident and knows their self worth, you’re whole life will change if you just start by accepting yourself and loving yourself. Open your eyes to more than what your eyes can see…
